This map shows an estimated Air Quality Index (AQI) for each building in the ACT.
It is for general information and use only and should not be treated as health advice. See ACT Health’s website for public health alerts and general health information, consult your doctor if you have concerns about your health and, in the event of a medical emergency, call triple-zero (000).
How are the estimated ratings calculated?
The estimated AQI ratings are a location weighted average of the latest hourly readings from the three monitoring stations in the ACT (Florey, Civic and Monash). These readings are available here from the ACT Government. The map calculates an estimated AQI for both PM2.5 and PM10 particulates, then uses the highest of those as the estimated AQI. Where one or more station does not have a current reading, the rolling 24hr average reading from the stations will be used in the calculation and the determined value will display with an * suffix.
How can I see the estimated AQI for a specific site?
The search box in the top right allows you to navigate the map. The estimated AQI for both PM2.5 and PM10 particulates at each site is available by selecting the individual point.
